I use an hAP ac² as my main router and I really like the feature that if I have any problem with my ISP I can just plug my smartphone into its USB port and I can share the LTE connection with the whole network easily by simply adding the lte interface to the WAN interfaces list. But I got a new cAP AC and I’m planning on using it as my main router due to cable management and using the hAP ac² as a cap device to extend WiFi range. But that got me thinking if I’ll still be able to share the LTE connection since the cAP ac doesn’t have any USB port and the hAP ac² would not be the main router anymore.
Is there a solution for this? Is it possible to use WAN interfaces beyond the main router?
The cAP ac will probably run as router, but it is not designed for that purpose. No clue about performance, but it lacks a lot of power. And in addition…not sure about the license as well.
Sell the cAP ac and buy a second hAP ac²?
Or use the cAP ac as accesspoint and keep the hAP ac² as router.
