Hi,
I’m trying to figure out if what I imagined is possible.
What I want to achieve.
I have one ISP modem in one room and I want to get WAN to a distinct room (in basement) and I pull fiber optic cable. And in addition I would like to have LAN over that same cable.
What I was thinking … I would bought two switches RB260GS with SFP S-31DLC20D, but looks like switches has to be behind router.
But this router is (will be) in distinct room (basement).
P.S.: reasons for fiber optic cable pulling and NOT UTP are beyond this question.
what do you mean by “LAN over the same cable”? LAN is not in the cable, LAN is the network of devices that you will have. Where will they be connected?
Normally you would connect the fiber to a RouterBOARD router in your basement, and connect your LAN devices to it.
