Is Mikrotik RouterOS an rebadged Linux?

Hello,

Is Mikrotik RouterOS an rebadged Linux?
Someone can say where if there’s something on the Mikrotik works better than the Linux.
Forget the the worse Mikrotik “shell” (or may be hell) and the winbox.

Thanks.

Nope, I think you are right… You should spend more time on the Red Hat forumns or debian maybe. Leave this MT stuff to us other people who can’t afford real linux

Scott

Its a linux base thats been made for router

also has special drives for wireless (not open) and routing protocols, proxy etc.

RouterOS uses the linux kernel as a base, and different custom programs around it. In some ways - it’s a lot better.

I want know if there some area where Mikrotik performs better than Linux about performance.

Thanks.
