is mikrotik support WCCP ?

is mikrotik support WCCP ?
question by another manner
is any ver of mikrotik (v2.9 or v3.xx or v4.xx) support WCCP ?
AND how i can use it?

WCCP? That’s a first for me!

I believe its equivalent in routeros is transparent proxy, i.e proxy (cache) users don’t have to manually configure their browsers.

http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/3.0/pnp/proxy.php

ANY frank answer ?
Web Cache Communication Protocol (WCCP)

no, RouterOS Proxy is lightweight proxy for one machine

i want to use external squid cache server and i don’t need to the config to be as
isp modem----squid—mikrotik–dslam
and i need the squid to be as in fig to avoid squid failure

ISP modem ----switch–mikrotik—dslam
:
:
squid

and i want to config mikrotik in (first choose)
ip----routes—0.0.0.0/0 gaetway squid server lan IP SAY 10.10.10.5/24
distance=1 check-gateway=ping

ip—routes—0.0.0.0/0 gaetway ISP LAN interface IP say 10.10.10.1/24 distance=2 check-gateway=ping
as failover.

second choose
active mikrotik webproxy
parent=10.10.10.5
parent-port=80
cache on disk = no

is this config’s right??
please help me.

should work fine. by the way, you may route to your squid only http traffic (if it isn’t implied)

how i can do this

just mark outgoing packets to port 80 with some routing-mark in mangle prerouting, then add above routes with that routing-mark

my love Chupaka
as after all of this i want to thank you for your serious and fruitful cooperation.
the design will be as in fig

as in fig : assume
if ether interface of ISP modem is 192.168.1.1/29
and: squid server first ether (wan) is 192.168.1.2/29
squid server second interface (LAN) IS 192.168.1.3/29

mikrotik ether1 (wan) is 192.168.1.4/29
mikrotik ether2 (lan) is 192.168.1.9/30

dslam is 192.168.1.10/30

is this config’s right?? (specially squid config)
if not second config for squid can be config as
squid ether 1 (wan) is 192.168.1.2/29
squid ether2 (lan) is 192.168.1.13/30 mean new subnet
or
squid with one ethernet card as 192.168.1.2/29

well, actually, you do not need two interfaces on squid machine

what is your squid configuration? is it just transparent proxy with ‘redirect’ NAT rule, or it’s with Balabit TProxy?

i will start to install and config squid ? please can you help me to config squid . first i want to choose the needed hardware for this server

i want to recommended for me (harddisk+cpu+ram+ethernet) to build a solid server .
second :
i want to recommended to me one method for mikrotik config
1- two gatweway with different distance .
2- active mikrotik web proxy with parent: and parent port:
for this case what the recommended setting for mikrotik webproxy
such as source address, port, parent proxy, parent proxy prot, serialze connection or not, cache hit dscp (TOS) optimum value

thank you for your serious and fruitful cooperation.
