I got a new RB4011iGS+RM router today. Is the power LED supposed to come on when it is plugged in? I checked the power supply and it is outputting 23.xx volts. I am wondering if the unit is DOA?
Any other LED coming on (i.e. when connecting an cable)?
It should come up indeed…you might want to perform a reset, might help.
Power led should indeed go on.
You can also try POE In to be sure but if I were you, I would return that device.
It turns out the unit is powering on. I get some sort of debug screen on the serial console, but it never gets beyond that. I might try a reset to see if that helps.
No other LEDs.
Post the console output if reset does not help. Also if reset does not help, Netinstall will definitely be able to revive it
I got it working after holding down the reset button during power on until the two LEDs lit up. I was able to log in through the serial interface with the admin account and the supplied password.
I am a bit concerned about long term reliability if I had to reset the unit just to get it working. There is zero evidence the router was previously used.
My experience is that MikroTik hardware is rock solid…don’t worry (too much) about it.
This thing is going back to Amazon. It is back to just printing out the debug screen on startup, and no power LED. I bet a reset will fix it again, but I can’t keep reseting it.
