Hi all.
I have bought the SXT-LTE6 kit and going to install it on the roof at the mast of my TV Antenna.
But I am a little concerning about the durability and the reliability of the device.
Especially now that we are in winter.
I mean, it is in a plastic housing, not sealed.
Is it really waterproof, snow proof?
Corrosion of the SIM contacts? Humidity on the PCB??
What is your experience?
Best regards and thanks.
Houseman
I’ve had one for 2 years in Australia - 45 degree heat, near zero on winter nights and 1,000mm of rain each year. No trouble yet.
thanks pal
It works with -20° with snow, tested.
It works with -20°
In my case after few months all of my four SXT LTE 6 modems have/had problems with loosing sim card. I took them from the roofs to lower location to make replacements easier.
Now I have also other problem - only one that was working properly until winter has now problem with booting (or power?).
Maybe I have problems because 3 modems are installed in the mountains (4th is a spare), about 1000m asl (about 3000 ft).
Sim card not present problem happends usually in the morning and there is no way to fix it remotely.
We have that types of problems few times with RouterOS v6… and after power loose the SXTR is offline (no LAN or Internet connection to it, he not established vpn-client too) like stuck in offline.
After second power off and on the unit back to life, we use a managed SONOFF before PoE Adapter and this do a re-power for us as workaround.
We not have that type problems after some upgrade in v6.48.? and with update boot-firmware too of course. Now we use Ros v7 and this problem not exist.
This is our situation, I not know if you have similar.
