What is your definition of real-time? And “real-time system” specifically?
Does the Linux kernel have real-time patches? Will there be lower latency?
What lower latency are you comparing it to, exactly?
There are specialized appliances with userspace networking built using DPDK and similar libraries, if that’s what you’re referring to..
RouterOS use kernel 5.x, so not PREEMPT_RT patch at all.
There were some patches for kernel 5.15, but I don't understand why such support in ROS?
