No it has not. Almost no recent MikroTik devices still have the beeper.
(the hEX Gr3 that was the predecessor of the E50UG does not have it either)
The old hEX (RB750Gr3) does have the beeper. The newer model - hEX Refresh (E50UG) - doesn’t. Check out Block Diagrams for the new hEX Refresh and the old hEX.
So sad, without a beeper it does not feel like a Mikrotik device
Yeah I have no idea why they removed it from newer devices. It's super useful, since if everything is working it never beep.
Like if a router is getting caught in boot loop, rebooting due memory like (or anything), etc... beeping was an indicator of problems & lost that.
Of course: it cost money, and thus removing it increases profit.
We had beeper, RS232 port, LCD, USB port, 128MB flash etc, and they are all mostly gone.
Thank you all !
Oh I didn’t notice on my previous one that the beeper was printed on the diagram.
DAMN it’s such a shame to remove it !!
They call the E50UG “Refresh” but on the main description they don’t warn about this…
not happy..
They did, on the front page even. But you have to read it.
It’s not mentioned, so it’s not there.
They didn’t mention either it now as a CPU sensor which old Hex did not have…
Hex
Hex Refresh
indeed I was going to fast, but I never expect a router without a beeper…
so I didn’t pay attention to an absence of line..
You are right, the RB750Gr3 still had the beeper… well, I have so many different types and had that one wrong.
But the first device from MikroTik I bought (RB2011) had way more of those gimmicks than what is being sold today.
So they show the “beeper boolean” in specs as “Yes” if present… but… if instead of a line saying “Beeper: No”, they remove the line.
If you buy a car, it doesn’t say either “no F1 engine”, does it ?
You usually list what is present, you do not mention what is not. That list would be way too long.
