Is there a disadvantage to installing wifi-qcom on router without WiFI?

So I’ve noticed my CAPsMAN server (CCR2116) is failing to update my caps because of wifi-qcom package is missing, so my question is; is it better to put the wifi-qcom files in the “update directory” or install the wifi-qcom package on my CAPsMAN (CCR2116) that way it will automatically download that package without intervention and distribute it to the caps.

Installing the package on my CCR2116 sounds like the best option, just didn’t know if there was a downside considering it doesn’t have any Wi-Fi interfaces.

Normally it should be “update” but I think there is no harm when it’s simply loaded on the device itself.

I have wifi-qcom-ac installed on a non-wifi router for the same reason. Works fine so far, no need to manually prepare the update directory as long as the architecture matches.
