I have the RB2011iLS, the sfp1 disabled, ether1 WAN, ether2 LAN, ether3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 bridge running PPPOE, then a lightning strikes and ether6/8/9/10 stop work. Now the side where ether6/7/8/9/10 is located is so hot that i can’t even touch it.
The RB2011iLS has one Atheros8327 switch on sfp1/ether1/2/3/4/5 and one Atheros8227 on ether6/7/8/9/10.
I removed the ether6/7/8/9/10 from the bridge and disabled those from interface list to see if the temperature go down, tomorrow i will confirm, but if this does’t work, there is a way to completely disable the Atheros8227?
If the temperatures keep that high, can i keep using until completely fail?
Edit: Disabling the ether6/7/8/9/10 worked, now the router don’t heat anymore.
