Is there a way to save the graphs before doing an upgrade?
I know i can use wget on a linux and mirror the graph webpage, but i would like to maintain the graphs data in routerboard when i upgrade the RouterOS.

Thank you.

Do you have them set to “save to disk” ?

If so, they are SUPPOSED to remain after an upgrade… but as many people find, it often doesn’t work.

There is no way to re-import the data, even if you could somehow save the actual raw data and not just the .htm webpages.

Mikrotik needs to work on this problem.

So, short answer = maybe, but maybe not, so do not count on it… and there is no way to know until you try it, and if it doesn’t work, then they are lost forever.

I have 9 RB1100 and some RB750GL.
All with save to disk option, save every 5 min.

All RBs do lose the data after an upgrade.
One routerboard also have a sd card installed, same problem.

If they can’t workout the problem, maybe give us an option to export and import the data, we do the rest.

Mikrotik’s current answer to this is :

To store graphs for longer time, or to have more detailed and reliable data, use an external monitoring program which uses SNMP for graph data. This would also solve any issues.

I will try cacti.
Any suggestion for something easier than cacti? (PHP+Mysql)

Thank you.

MRTG - but I don’t know what backend DB it runs on. Don’t forget about Dude - it also has graphing options and an easy to use web interface.

just use the dude.

I installed the dude in a RB1100.
Will THE DUDE lose data when upgrade routerOS?

have the router monitored by the dude. Use it to save the graphs (+ a thousand other nice stuff).
