Is there a way to see what a device is trying to connect to?

Hi. I have a Mikrotik router. I’m a real novice.

I have a TV that’s doing something annoying and I’m trying to figure out some information… mostly what it is attempting to connect to that’s taking a long time (eventually timing out).

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can see what it is attempting to do?

At minimum I want to know what IP(s) it is attempting to reach. I want to see if those are actually live. Ultimately, I’d like to see the entire exchange if that’s at all possible. Any help appreciated. Sorry if this is a stupid Q… I don’t even know where to start.

Hello,

have a look at Tools → Torch. Select the appropriate interface and click on start.

Also, there is Tools → Packet Sniffer.

Have a look under DHCP server → leases to find out the IP address, assuming it gets it via DHCP of course.
