Is there a way to track those 3 things ?

Hi, im pretty new to Microtik OS and just started into networking 3 months back, but my WISP company is up and running well.
I just want to know two things.

  1. Situation 1 : Users complaining that in the night, their connection gets too slow.
Lets say, a user placed a complaint at 3am today. Now, Im up at 8am. How do I go and check the server stats or bandwidth graph or ping or packets back at 3am ? Is there a way to track trace it so I know really something was wrong ?

  2. Situation 2 : Customers complaining about packet loss.
When customers complain about packet loss, what exactly should we check and trace it and what exactly is the fix ?

    \
  3. Situation 3 : How to see the graph or stats of the whole day usage of bandwidth, and see when did it hit the top usage ?

implement a network monitoring software

maybe knowing your network topology can be useful to generate some suggestions

  1. Which network monitoring software do you suggest ? Will go ahead and buy it today then.
  2. Yes, what do you want to know, I can tell then about my network design.

mikrotik has one and its free:

as i say your network topology, as a diagram or something to understand your network

I use Air Control 2 of UBNT and it works great.

But how would I go and see a 3hours back bandwidth report of ping or trace report for a customer ?

Your questions are less to do with mikrotik and networking and more to do with ISP management and network monitoring - I would advise hiring a consultant.

Ultimately you can use graphing on the mikrotik router (either under System or Tools, can’t remember) or SNMP from a remote system such as Cacti - these systems create ‘trend’ graphs (not real time) which means you can go and look at past history to see what was happening at specific time. More advanced monitoring tools can test things like jitter and packet loss if set up correctly too (and graph these values for history). They are not necessarily easy systems to set up and perfect, so you either need to do a LOT of googling and research (common tools: thedude, cacti and Nagios) or hire a consultant.

I will check cacti and Nagios today.
