So, would it be possible with the RB951 to block and unblock Windows Updates sites till a special hour and then again after an hour?
My internet is metered, and I can’t imagine trying Windows 10 till I have control of when the updates are downloaded (Since I used wired I can’t set the connection to Metered and then tell it when to restart).
The ISP uses data capped from 5:01 AM - 11:59PM , 12-5 AM is the only open hours to get large downloads done.
I’m thinking about skipping Windows 10 all together, because of this but figured I’d try working something out via the router first.
I’m not sure if ViaSat/Exede/Wildblue (or for Hughes customers, Hughesnet) would bypass such blocks either at their NOC ? We (customers) can’t change our DNS , not sure if the NOC would bypass a “firewall permission” either ?
