Is there any plan for cheaper 5G devices?

I know that 5G costs a lot of money now that it deploys but in the long term, is there a chance, that you will announce any cheaper 5G devices?

Chateau is quite over the price range for me personaly. I can see some other vendors offering 5G devices arround 300 EURos but they lack Mikrotik configurability.

I built my entire home network based on Mikrotik (also at my friends and relatives) but when i go on vacation i’m using B535 (got it cheap used and it’s Cat7) but i must have Ac3 connected behind it to use all the options i need (VPN, Zerotier…). Now when i’m thinking about 5G (because 4G is extremly crowded in the middle of the summer on the coast of Croatia) i would like to use only 1 device for all, but Cheteau’s price is a bit over the limit to use it only for that and on some other ocasions.

So how are plans for the future?

€300 is quite reasonable for a 5G all-on-one box. In my country they are priced around €400-900 - witch is indeed expensive. I’m guessing that the powerful CPU and multiple radio/antennas help push the price up, not only the 5G modem.

Maybe the should release an antenna-modem-bridge only device?

I guess we will have to wait and see if some “5G travel” option comes up . Hoping for the best

An affordable 5G card for upgrading existing ‘MikroTik hAP ac3 LTE6 kit’ devices would be nice aswel.

And what about a ‘hAP ax3 5G kit’?

Ax3 and usb modem ?

I’m not expecting more cheaper 5G devices. I’m waiting for outdoor 5G devices, please! :frowning:
