My new link got delivered today from the provider and its 155Mbps.
But when Im testing it, its only showing at max 98Mbps on speedtest.
And in ethernet card settings, Speed and Duplex is set to 1Gbps Full Duplex too.
My computer is Gigabit ethernet card too.
Hi, in my BTS they only have DC output 48v.
So, I bought a Microtik 260GSP, »routerboard.com/RB260GSP
And bought this DC adapter, 48v DC to 24v DC
So, this DC adapter connects to the BTS DC Power source, then the POE port of the adapter came into the POE IN port of Microtik 260GSP.
All the ports of Microtik 260GSP are gigabit ports.
And all ports have POE out feature too, so I configured one port to POE out and connected my POWERBEAM AC500 to that port directly.
PowerBeam AC is on and powered. All good and done.
But speed not going beyond 100Mbps.
What could be the reason ?
The DC Adapter powering the 260GSP through the POE IN port, can that be the culprit ??
But when I searched on internet, there is nothing called gigabit POE DC adapter.
And Microtik 260GSP POE IN port is just taking the power IN to power the switch and its ports.
Try to connect both sides to positively working gigabit port of some computer to check the automatic negotiation. Swap the cables. If both sides work with computer and not with each other, try to put dumb switch in between.
Both sides ? Or shall I try connection a ethernet directly to the ethernet port of the Huawei CX switch and test first ??
Does cables pay a role for through put ? The cables and connectors are UBNT Tough Cable and UBNT Tough Connectors.
If direct port of Huawei works with the gigabit switch, but not working with the 260GSP, then what to do ?
Do you think, power is coming less to the ports ?
I mean, the 260GSP is now being powered by the POE IN port. So, may be the power is not enough for one SFP port and one ethernet port. Can that be a reason for 100M instead of 1000M ?
The DC adapter is a local made DC adapet which coverts 48v to 24v output.
I dont think Microtik have any DC adapter.
And Im using this adapter just to give power to the 260GSP.
For that is it needed to have a gigabit DC adapter ?
But I guess., for powering a Microtik 260GSP through POE IN port., its not important to have a gigabit adapter, as the power port is only powering the device.
As jarda suggested above already, try connecting another device with a gigabit port on-board (your computer) directly to your ISP (in place of your 260GSP) just to see if they negotiate 1G link. And if they don’t, then check/replace the cable (as minimal cable requirements are higher for 1G links as compared to 100M links).
If I switch off auto negotiation and set it 1000 forcefully, then it stops responding.
The port is only working for AUTO NEGOTIATION, but it shows 100M.
