thanks

That’s correct.

thank you
but still no response
plz explain how to use putty with it

I may have jumped the gun in responding to your first question.. That pinout is correct for the Cisco console cable (which the newer RouterBOARDs utilize), but the none of the RB2011L series have a serial port. What RJ45 port are you plugging this into, or did you misreport your model number?

If, instead, you have a RB2011U series, where the console port is the RJ45 in the rear, the default serial configuration appears to be 115.2kbps

dear jgellis
from first
I have rb2011ls-in lost booting!
how can u help me

Well now I’m not understanding your question at all. You first asked how the console cable was to be wired, now you say it is “lost in booting” and that you cannot get Putty to work with that cable.

There is no serial port on the RB2011LS-IN, no console cable or putty (serial) access will work.

I would suggest you read http://routerboard.com/pdf/420/rb2011L-qg.pdf, specifically the sections on resetting the device as well as buttons and jumpers. There is information in there on configuration reset as well as backup bootloader. If you are still having trouble with a non-booting device, you will need to contact Mikrotik support. They hang out on the forums, but support is only offered through their email address: support@mikrotik.com

Best of luck!

Dear all

thank you sir
I have many good words for you but I cant write english.
thank you

The RB2011 series boards do have a serial port but it is only provisioned on certain models. When there it is wired in the same manner as a Cisco console port and can use a Cisco console port “rollover” cable. When fitted it faces the back and is located behind where the SFP cage is / would be.

RB2011LS does not have serial console as a feature. So even if you solder all the required parts for it - it still is not going to work.

Better opt for different version of RB2011 that has the serial console feature already soldered on and enabled on the router.
