ISP modem/router with no bridge mode.
2 Questions I couldn’t get a good answer on looking through forums:
whats the best approach to add additional layer of security to the ISP router so that the Mikrotik hEX RB750Gr3 is the gate keepr instead of the ISP router?
what would be the best way to setup Mikrotik hEX RB750Gr3 to ensure the use of OPENVPN for remote access to network?
any youtube videos or links to set this up would be great.
Not sure what is being asked here.
Do you have ISP MODEM ----> Mikrotik, or
Do you have ISP MODEM/Router ----> Mikrotik
In the latter case can you put the ISP MODEM/Router into bridge mode so that it simply passes the public IP to the Mikrotik??
If you are stuck with getting a private IP from the ISP Router, how much control do you have over the ISP/Modem router (ie if port forwarding is required etc…)??
In any case, the Mikrotik can be programmed the same getting a private IPs, as if it was receiving a public IP in most respects from the brief and limited experience I have.
