ISP startup with Base station at 5.8 GHz

I am planning to go for a network with 5Ghz covering an aerial radius of 5 km. I have a few queries to start with.

  1. What should be the base station equipment i.e. Routerboard and which card.
  2. Sector or panel antenna.
  3. How many RB711 CPE would one base station board support.

I was discussing with my vendor just today about this w.r.t RB711 and he says 5 nos. should be good enough on RB433AH with R52H at the base station.

I have a lot of rb433 with r52h and work greats :slight_smile:
in one spot i have a rb800 with a minipci extender with 4 sector antenas and two 5 ghz links.

You should say if you network will be ptp ou ptmp and if the base statin will be in the middle of the area …

i am located in middle of the town and i want a ptmp. that is why i want to know how many cpe of rb711 witll a 433ah with 3 nos. r52 cards support.

rb433 or rb800 with sectors antennas and use 5ghz-n for ptp links to others repeaters (rb433 with 5ghz and 2ghz omni).

on cpe i prefer to have 411 because you can change mini pci for futures updates. but is a choice…
