Is it likely that say after 24 or 48 hours my ISP might drop the connection to force an ip address change?
I’m trying to understand why I’m seeing this in the logs:
jan/19 15:27:24 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TOTFibre: initializing...
jan/19 15:27:24 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TOTFibre: connecting...
jan/19 15:27:24 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TOTFibre: authenticated
jan/19 15:27:24 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TOTFibre: connected
jan/19 19:38:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TrueDSL: terminating...
jan/19 19:38:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TrueDSL: disconnected
jan/19 19:38:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TrueDSL: initializing...
jan/19 19:38:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TrueDSL: connecting...
jan/19 19:38:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TrueDSL: authenticated
jan/19 19:38:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-TrueDSL: connected
To avoid this minor network interruption, I’m thinking of disabling and enabling the interface myself on a daily schedule at say 2am. That way I can control when it occurs rather than letting the isp do it.
