Dear All,
Hope ya’all doing good!
Here is our setup!
We have a remote vpn solution which has a main mikrotik at head office and branches have mikrotiks(RB750UP) too.
All the sites have 3g and lte dongles with sim cards inserted(Sims have unique ip addresses like 10.131.57.x and GRE tunnel based on that ip range. we have configured both ends for local and remote address with respective sim ip address( as an example, branch a has a local address for GRE tunnel, which is the sim ip 10.131.57.176 and remote address as head office mikrtoik ip 10.134.0.210, static routes are already there to reach out to these networks. head office has also configured with a GRE interface to connect to branch and remote ip as 10.131.57.176 and local address as 10.134.0.210) please refer to attached screenshot.
As you know when you plug a 3g dongle(Huawei E3131) to mikrotik routerboard, it detects it as ppp interface and when you enable it, router automatically gets the sim ip address(10.131.57.176) under ip/addresses(please refer to the attached screenshot).
but when you plug a LTE capable dongle(Huawei E3531), it detects as a LTE interface and what you see under ip/addresses is some 192.168.8.x (LTE dongle seems to be acting as a router itself and giving an ip address to mikrotik.
LTE setup wont work with the existing configurations as the router communicates to 192.168.8.x ip, since its not detecting 10.131.57.x ips under ip/addresses.
What can be the possible solution for this?
Please help me to sort this out, I have been finding a solution for this for days but still couldn’t.
Thanks Everyone!
