issue connecting SXT with E900

hi… i have the following setup :

{ISP ROUTER} <—ETHERNET—> {SXT} <—WIRELESS— > {SXT} <—ETHERNET—> {Cisco E900}

Both the SXT have level 3 license and working in Bridge and Station Bridge mode with IP 192.168.1.11 & 192.168.1.12

the Station Bridge (192.168.1.12) SXT has been plugged with an Ethernet cable into a CISCO E900. the CISCO E900 is put in the bridge mode and the Ethernet cable from SXT is plugged into the INTERNET port of the CISCO E900.

Cisco E900 has an IP 192.168.1.17

it started workin after configuring it… but after it is switched off and switched on again it stops responding.

i tried everything but this above condition is still there. please do help me with what needs to be done?

basically i am not able to cascade…the E900

Which device stopped responding? Did you tried to troubleshoot using ping and trace-route?

the exact problem is as below.

when the Ethernet cable from SXT is plugged into a single computer it gets an IP from the gateway router.

when the same cable is plugged into a WiFi AP (Cisco E900) or a simple 24 port switch and the computer into the same AP/Switch it fails to get an IP from the gateway router.

why is the SXT bridge working when used with a single computer and fails when trying to use with a network device in between ?

kirshteins / normis… guys any idea why is this happening??

help!!!

please help!!!

now i have started feeling like " I, ME, MYSELF " all the way on this forum

guys… this is a very weired problem which i have come across the first time.

Post /export compact from each of your SXTs and we can look to see if there is a problem in your config.

I think this setting is wrong, ether1 is part of bridge1, don’t set an ip on it.

add address=192.168.1.33/24 interface=ether1 network=192.168.1.0

this connection works when using with single pc

when the same cable connected to any dumb switch with multiple ethernet ports it stops working.

/ip route
add distance=1 gateway=bridge1

Why do you have this on both sides?

without that the NTP servers are not accessible… for the routerboard time…

now I have setup a MPLS transparent link using → http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Transparently_Bridge_two_Networks_using_MPLS

should i post that config output here??

is this not funny…

i replaced the cable and everything started working just fine…

how come the first cable was working only for a single machine and failed to work when plugged into a switch??

and now replacing the cable it has started to working perfectly even in a switch?
