I been using mikrotik equipment for some time now, but this type of equipment is new to me.
I double check if its not issue with ax vs ac (not compatible) but I did some test in lab and it was running ok in small distance.
I install Netbox 5 ax with two HGO-antenna-OUT, with routeros 7.15.3 and wifi-qcom 7.15.3.
// I wanted to export wifi config but both /interface/wifi and /interface/wireless show empty (not sure if its because of qcom or not but this was package recommanded on technical page).
The wifi is wifi1 is master, wifi2 is bound because I was afraid that we will need legacy channels:
mode: ap
ssid: mynetwork / mynetwork2 (for wifi2)
country: poland (the country of installation)
band: 5GHZ AC / 5GHZ AX
channel width: 20/40MHZ / 20/40/80MHZ
security: WPA2 PSK/WPA3 PSK
disable pmkid: yes
wps: disable
datapath: bridge : bridge1
Currently both wifis are on channel 5720/ac/eC
The client side has SXTsq 5 ac, I pick that one because it looks like its fan favourites, the specs was ok, I did have issues in linking both in lab, but in the end I was able to successfully connect both.
But on the installation site we are unable to make a link because the SXTsq 5 ac side don’t see our networks (both), the AP is around 55-60m in straight line, no obscures.
When I scan wireless network from SXTsq 5 ac, thru “scan” function I see few network but non mine.
On my old laptop while standing under the pool where SXTsq 5 ac is installed I can connect and use network with around signal strength around 2, with building obscuring the pool with NetBox.
I really can’t believe that SXTsq 5 ac is worst than build in antennas in laptop, or that the two wouldn’t work - I can believe that I did not restart this setup enough times and I was changing something and thinking new configuration is working while in reality I was using other configuration.
Can someone point me in right direction because I need to connect one more SXTsq 5 ac on same location, but before doing that I would love to make the first link work.
