Hello,
Sorry for being new, I tried to follow instructions to install The Dude on my MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+ already have firmware 6.46.6
I downloaded the package under ARM, 6.46.6 stable where it says ARM cAP ac, CRS305-1G-4S+, CRS309-1G-8S+, (so my model is ok)
When I try to drag to my Winbox seems ok, the package shows downloading and appears in the list. As soon as I reboot, the package simply disappears from the list.
Should i make changes for this to work? I have no DHCP enabled.
Hello, thank you very much for your time.
Yes I downloaded and draged the server package into the Winbox, all goes ok and I see dude-6.46.6-arm.npk in the file list which I screenshot, but after rebboting it simply disapears and no Dude tab or what’s so ever..
And no dude tab..
After reboot. Log only says under message: user admin logged in from so and so via winbox
Just my suggestion.
Having multiple copies of the npk in the files could be very confusing for the upgrade module for RouterOS.
If it picks the first one available its an empty file.
After installing the empty file it might delete the npk which is on the normal location.
Just my thoughts.
There is no on-screen option to delete a file. But select it and press your delete keyboard button
Thank you my friend. This morning when I opened the Winbox, there was only 1 0byte under skin that i removed, so now this is what I have. I will reboot and see what happens..
Well rebooted and is exactly the same as the screenshot above, seems is not running the script. Is very weird..
Incomplete or corrupt file (should be 1401KB or 1400.1KB)
Check your upload path. (e.g. don’t use MAC access but IP, etc etc)
You left the old one in place , that was marked already with a “red ?”
I would put it under flash, not flash/pub.
Package upgrade and install on all SPI-flash devices is always done in RAM. You should always upload all .npk files to the root directory, not /flash.
What’s the point in installing The Dude server on your switch? It has only 16MB flash and no options for external storage (like USB port or SD card slot). You won’t be able to do anything serious with such setup.
