the .npk files are not showing up in Netinstall.
And I’m sure the address of .npk files are correct.
I’m assuming there is a special version for R11e lte…
Subject: Detailed Issue with Netinstall and RouterOS Installation on R11e-LTE RouterBOARD
Hi
I hope this message finds you well. I am currently experiencing significant difficulties with using Netinstall to reinstall RouterOS on my MikroTik R11e-LTE RouterBOARD. Here is a detailed description of the problem and the steps I have taken so far:
Issue Description
When I attempt to use Netinstall to reinstall RouterOS on my R11e-LTE RouterBOARD, the router is detected by Netinstall, but the RouterOS package files (.npk) do not appear in the package list. Consequently, I am unable to proceed with the installation.
Steps Taken
Downloading RouterOS:
I downloaded the stable version of RouterOS (7.15) from the official MikroTik website.
I ensured the download was complete and extracted the .npk files fromthe archive to a simple directory path: C:\Netinstall.
Preparing Netinstall:
I placed the extracted .npk files in the same directory as the Netinstall executable (C:\Netinstall).
I ensured that Netinstall was run with administrator privileges (right-click > Run as administrator).
Configuring Network Settings:
I set a static IP address on my computer:
IP: 192.168.88.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
I connected my computer to the router using an Ethernet cable.
Entering Netinstall Mode on the Router:
I powered off the router.
I pressed and held the reset button.
While holding the reset button, I powered on the router and continued holding the reset button until the LEDs indicated it had entered Netinstall mode (approximately 5-10 seconds).
Running Netinstall:
I launched Netinstall, and it successfully detected the router by its MAC address.
However, despite specifying the correct directory (C:\Netinstall) in the "From" field, no RouterOS packages (.npk files) appeared in the package list at the bottom of the Netinstall window.
Additional Details
Verification of Files:
The .npk files are present in the specified directory and have been verified to ensure they are not corrupted.
I have tried placing the .npk files in different directories, including the desktop and root of the C: drive, but the issue persists.
Permissions:
I have checked the file and directory permissions to ensure full read/write access for the current user (admin).
Different Versions of Netinstall:
I have tested with various versions of Netinstall, including older versions, to see if the issue is version-specific. However, the problem remains unchanged.
Router and Firmware:
The router's firmware was being updated when a power outage occurred, which might have caused partial corruption. This incident prompted my attempt to use Netinstall for a clean reinstallation.
Request for Assistance
Given the above steps and details, I am seeking your assistance to resolve this issue. Could you please provide any insights or additional steps that I might be missing? Any guidance on how to ensure the .npk files appear in Netinstall and complete the RouterOS reinstallation process would be greatly appreciated.
Can you send a photo of your device? As I said. R11e-LTE is only a interface card, not the router itself. Various models uses the same card, I can’t know what router are you using.
Which architecture are you chosen when downloaded NPK file?
