Kernel panic after upgrade 2.9.2 on rb 532.

hi

second time after upgrade i get kernel panic
now i must go to the tower and connect with null modem cable and do netinstall

only one of my routerboard 532 do that,

any one know whay is that?
when i repair then i’ll make suppout file

ok i fund that was not kernel panic

router stops at starting services and stays forever

2.9.1 worked good
firmware is 1.5
2x athreos based cards
PoE 12 v
333 mhz (i tested even on 133 setting)

any help??

I think you should try 18V POE or change the jumpers and use 48V.

John

I have same problem with my 532 board…

on 2.9.3 and 2.9.4 still starting services …

the same with 2.9.2, only 2.9.1 works fine

this is strange behaviour , i have two other rb 532 and they work fine with 2.9.4, and this new rb not

u right 2.9.1 works fine

mt support tell me they cannot help me at this time
then we must wait untill they fix it

Have you achievement with ftp upload and reboot?

yes and still this same

starting services forever

only 2.9.1 works and earlier

same situation on my HW …

have u tried 2.9.5??

i cannot try becouse my rb 532 is in central point of my network

Yes works !!! try ftp upload and reboot …

yes it works

I’ve had this kernel-panic when upgrading some non-RB geode boards with recent 2.9.x releases using FTP and reboot. The ap just doesn’t come back up.

The solution is painful and involves a re-install from a bios PXE boot, which means an RS232 cable connection.

Any thoughts why this is, these boards never had problems with all the previous 2.9 betas and RCs.

I have an RB532 supplied from Mikrotik complete with 2x rb52 interfaces & 18V PoE.

Since upgrading from 2.9rc9 to 2.9.2 (then .4, then .5) it has been crashing randomly. Also one 2.8.21 client disconnects and will not reconnect without a reboot. This is bad.

Upgraded from 2.9rc7 to 2.9.5 with RB532

XP does not fail, we have tested from XP numerous times. yes, if you reinstall with Netinstall, it is likely that your problem will be solved. use latest version

Tried the Netinstall from another PC and it worked, also running XP
