Key is lost during power outages, get 24 countdown timer

We’re running routeros 2.9.49 and login via winbox. We’ve had 4-5 weather related power bumps and outages. The last two were extended in length 3-5 days. We had backup power but it ran out. When power is back on we can login via winbox only to find our license level is “0” and the 24 hour countdown timer is on. During these times when I go into “System” and then “License” and sometimes there is nothing in the boxes for Software ID, upgradeable to, it says Leval 0, 0 features and the box is blank for expires in. Sometimes the 24 hour countdown is on. We went through this yesterday. Was able to copy and paste key from our file in mikrotick.com website and rebooted it. A few minutes later it showed everything required in the boxes. I just checked it a half hour ago and it is back to reading License Level “0” and the rest of the boxes are blank. I have to send someone to the site where the routeros is to cold boot it. This is getting annoying. Is RB-333 any better? What must we do?

reinstall it with netinstall and see what you see then. also try a newer version maybe

Last I saw a problem like this it was on my x86 ROS box with a bad disk.

When you ask if RB333 is better - better then what? You never mentioned what you’re using!

We’ve been using the RB153 and RB532 units quite a bit. The RB153 units are at tower sites (with backhaul radios and AP radios acting as a “network concentrator”) and RB532 is the king of all replacements for a Linksys/Dlink/Netgear router - what I feel it was intended for.

ROS 2.9.35. We now have RB-333. We built a 2nd network this year and used another RB-333. Both networks stay up longer during extended power outages due to less current draw. <:)

I have faced a keylose problem once with an MT OS X86 box and couldn’t fix this problem then I had to changed the HDD(1st one had bad sector), our MT support was very kind n replace the key with the new one.

Thanks n Peace
