So, I am diving into my first Routerboard thingy (a nice little RB2011UAS-RM), and I’ve gotten it mostly working. But.
In my Leases page, I had some issues at first with getting some of my Apple devices to show up with an active host name, but I figured out what that was: in either Apple’s DHCP client or RouterOS’s DHCP server (and if my googling was correct, the dhcpd usually used in linux) there is a problem with hostnames that include an apostrophe – like the default hostnames in the “Jasper’s iPhone” and “Jasper’s MacBook” line.
So fixing those was easy enough. But now a less easy to solve problem – the Kindles. Is there any way to get them identified in that lovely table without using the extra comment line?
