L009 performance question

I’ve installed an L009 as gateway router. I really like it, many ethernets, small size.
Capability for containers, elegant modern design.

What I’ve done is transferred the export from my ax2 (I wasn’t using wifi anymore) to the l009 after I cleared if from wifi references.
This worked first try, and then I added the remaining ethernets to the bridge. And setup zerotier and added pihole container on usb ssd.

The issue, I have Gigabit fiber (from kpn) and this was fine with the ax2. ’
However the L009 seems to stall at around 500 Mb/s down, up is not an issue ~900 Mb/s, I don’t really understand why.

I’ve cleansed some firewall rules that were no longer in use, but this doesn’t seem to have much effect.
For some reason I need the MTU mangle rules, can this be a problem? I know mangle is intensive.

Do I need to look into my config or is the L009 much less than an ax2?
It must be my config right, it has a 2.5Gbe SPF port for WAN, so it should to better.

L009 has 2 cores at 800MHz while hAP ax2 has 4 cores at 867MHz. Both CPUs might be of different ARM varieties, but the stated difference does indicate that hAP ax2 is more potent device than L009. And official test results indicate that hAP ax2 is roughly 3-times faster router than L009.

I’ve no idea whether the above explains your experience or not, but mangling does exclude fasttracking which imensely improves IPv4 routing performance.
