Hi dears
I want to configure my L22UGS-5HaxD2HaxD via capsman but it doesn`t have Wlan interface, The wireless package is installed but the mentioned interface still does not exist.
how can I add my L22UGS-5HaxD2HaxD to camsman router ?
my capsman router is RB750Gr3

Hi and welcome.

From the device name L22UGS-5HaxD2HaxD you should already be able to determine this is an AX device.
So it needs wifi-qcom package. Not wireless.

On your capsman controller you should be able to set it up since starting ROS 7.13, base hooks are present for wave2-capsman.
But with only 1 radio, why use capsman ?

Because this device is working alongside other Cap-ac series and we want it to be configured and work seamlessly with them.(full mesh)

Radio frameware is 7.19.4

Main router is the same

You could have told that from the beginning...

Cap ac is arm based so it can run wifi-qcom-ac package.
That allows you to use wave2 capsman for all devices.
Take into account: if your controller is running on the same device having radios, those radios need to be configured locally ( manager = local)
Tip: you can use provisioning based on MAC, same as for caps.

If you want to keep those cap ac devices on wireless and use L22 as controller, you need to remove wifi-qcom from that l22 and load wireless package.
You will loose radio on l22 then !!
You can not have both wifi-qcom and wireless and functioning AX radio...

If you want full roaming, it's advised to move to wave2 for all devices ( wifi-qcom and wifi-qcom-ac)

going to be in the same boat

my AI mowers networks are crashing when they encounter new radio’s using same ssid ,

then needing the robot to be manually rebooted 2.4ghz

so trying to upgrade my wifi just for them , most devices here are iot esp32’s on 2.4ghz

I have a dozen odd RB2011UiAS-2HnD , Fibre Uplinked

and RB952Ui-5ac2nD + RB951UI-2HnD as repeaters inside shipping containers and sheds

because of the fibre links and not wanting to get other devices for re-doing the ethernet connections I am wanting to keep the current wifi setup

but needing to make full use of the fast roaming of the newer wifi

I ordered multiple

MikroTik L23UGSR-5HaxD2HaxD

and

MikroTik L23UGSR-5HaxD2HaxD-NM / NetMetal ax

for doing the paddock is it possible for them to work with old wifi (same ssid / channels )

would capsman on the RB2011UiAS-2HnD show options needed for the newer ones ?

or would the newer ones need to become the main capsman ?

or just have the mowers looking at the newer wifi and keeping separate ssid’s?

I was very tempted getting a CRS418-8P-8G-2S+5axQ2axQ-RM

but its speeds not really needed its just a farm …

what ever happened to router-boards with pci slots to swap out wifi ….

also mixed feeling swapping in a MikroTik L009UiGS-2HaxD , but its only got 2.4ghz and not 5ghz duel band

but only 10% cheaper getting without wifi and the RB5009UPr+S+in is twice the price but being able to run a container would be nice , then I could run my cloudflare tunnel directly on it instead of running it from my proxmox laptop

Usually the "poor man" device, still capable of a 1 Gbps connection is considered the hap Ax3:

$139 instead of the $119 list price of the L009 and both 2.4 and 5 GHz radio (but three ethernet ports less).

In the usual test result of routing 512 byte packets with 25 firewall rules, the Ax3 is 1145.2 Mbps compared to the L009 323.6 Mbps.

And it can run containers just fine.
