L2MTU On Smaller RB devices

Is there any plan to increase the L2MTU on the smaller rack mount RBs such as the 2011 or 3011? We use the 3011 ( formerly the 2011 ) a lot as MPLS/L2 demarcation devices at customer prems, and just ran into a request where a customer needs 9K and the 3011 is limited to 8156 it seems. Is there any plan to either increase this limit or a new revision where 9K+ is available? It would be really handy versus throwing in a CCR1009+ which in some cases is overkill.

The RB1100AHx4 is not an option for us as we need an SFP slot.

No, not possible. You will need to choose hardware that supports 9k byte frames.

Right, my question is, why is Mikrotik utilizing chipsets or whatever the limitation is that does not support 9K even in newer hardware like the 3011 and, is there a strategy where future releases do not have this sort of limitation. IMHO all modern hardware should support 9K.
