I’m running two MikroTik RouterOS 6.18 devices, one in the United States, the other in the Ukraine.
I’ve successfully set up an L2TP/IPsec server on the american router to make a permanent tunnel from the ukrainian router based on the description here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/L2TP_%2B_IPSEC_between_2_Mikrotik_routers .
I’ve also been able to set up an L2TP/IPsec server on the ukrainian router for traveling remote clients based on the description here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/IPsec .
However, any time there’s a new VPN connection to the ukrainian router, its tunnel to the american router breaks down. It seems that the two L2TP setups are incompatible somehow. I’ve tried to separate all of the ppp profiles, ipsec proposals, etc. (using new ones instead of the default ones) but that doesn’t seem to be helping. Perhaps there is some other conflicting setting I’m missing?
