Hi,
i’ve encountered a problem using L2TP over IPSec with latest firmware.
I’ve got an RB2011UiAS hardware running ROS 6.17, everything is working fine - my clients Windows CE 6.0 SP3 can connect and the data can be transmitted.
My customer who runs this router has a problem that router sometimes becomes completely unresponsive. He toggled the powersupply and all is running fine again.
The last time the problem occured I’ve connected to this router using the serial console and found out that the routing cache was full, so I updated the ROS to the latest 6.25 version which should fix the problem with routing cache.
Unfortunately after that update the Windows CE 6.0 clients weren’t able to establish the L2TP over IPSec connection. I tried to reconfigure the vpn connection on the router side. But I was not able to get the vpn connection running again for the Windows CE clients, Windows 7 as client is working fine.
So downgraded the customers router to ROS6.17, reconfigured it and now its working again for the Windows CE clients.
Back in my office I created a test using a RB433 running ROS 6.25 and the RB2011UiAS running ROS 6.17.
With the RB2011UiAs the vpn connection is working, using the RB433 the vpn connection isn’t working.
I switched the ROS version on both devices - 6.17 to the RB433 and 6.25 to RB2011UiAS. With the RB433 the vpn connection is now working, with the RB2011UiAS it doesn’t work.
I attached two logfiles to this post. One is from the working RB433 the other is from the not working RB2011UiAs. The configuration export is also attached to this post.
Has anyone an idea how to get the vpn working again?
Thanks.
