L2TP reconnection problem after Internet disruption

Hi,
I have about 80 remote location in hub and spoke topology connected to central MikroTik router via L2TP tunnel.
I experience periodical Internet disconnection which last for less than one minute in all of these location. I don’t know why they (Internet provider) are doing this but it doesn’t disrupt my work that much, because it happens once a day or few days.
OK, here is the problem. On one remote office after this Internet disruption L2TP connection are unable to reconnect. For testing purposes, I’ve created openvpn connection, and it reconnects with no problem.
Here is the entries from the log file:

Sep/01/2016 08:07:23 l2tp,ppp,info esxi01: connecting…
Sep/01/2016 08:07:47 l2tp,ppp,info esxi01: terminating… - session closed
Sep/01/2016 08:07:47 l2tp,ppp,info esxi01: disconnected

The log is full of these messages since the Internet break.

I can manually reconnect L2TP connection by disabling the L2TP interface in winbox for about one minute, then it reconnects.
This is only happens in this particular location. Can I blame Internet provider or L2TP protocol? They have already replace their on premise device, and we replaced our Mikrotik router, did a RouterOS upgrade/downgrade…

Any suggestion, and help would be appreciated.

Thanks
mIRO

I have the same problem.
Mikrotik hAP AC, RouterOS 6.36.3 and 6.35.2.
When PPPoE connection lost, L2TP tunnels cannot reconnect.

it seems bug at l2tp at Mikrotik

It seems like a bug, and there is still no response from MikroTik support stuff… :frowning:

Still open? Having the same…

Also here. VERY annoying, especially as I use L2TP to establish a backup tunnel (with auto failover), to find out that when needed, it is not operational!

Mikrotik engineers, do you have this on your radar?

Exact same issue here.
RouterOS 6.43.11

Hm, i changed my Internet Provider and now it works… But i don’t know why

We moved all VPN connections to OpenVPN.
