L2TP Server on a RB411U and 3G Modem

I was wondering if anybody could help me, I need to set up a L2TP Server and dial in point on a RB411U, but I am not sure how to “tie” the server to the modem interface and to get a address that I could dial into, the modem is a USB modem.

I am using my Windows XP Laptop with its own 3G Modem as the client.

You don’t have to specify any address in L2TP server’s configuration. To access L2TP you just need to set up address on any of the interfaces which can be reached fro client’s location.

with a PPPoE server on Mikrotik, you can select which interface you want to connect it to, how do you do it with a L2TP server

PPPoE works on Layer 2, L2TP works on Layer 3, so you don’t need to set interface - just IP address of the server
