I hav a few l2tp sessions that timeout. We have to kick them from the server before they can route again. If they power off the equiment or reset still dosent work. Server never sees a dissconnect.
These are dsl modems pppoa and pppoe client side. It then gets passed to us as l2tp tunnels.
any ideas to fix?

I know its taboo but can someone hook me up with 2.8 packages. I’m loosing money now from users discontinuing service.
I have always had a better experiance with IPSec tunnels.

We have some routers up with 5-6 l2tp tunnels each with weeks of uptime … no reason they should be dropping other than an underlying network problem or misconfiguration - or a super old version of MT : )

I upgraded to latest code. THe next day I got users calling in not going anywhere. I can’t ping them. If they reset the modem I never see them logout. the re auth. no go. I have to terminate them. out of 300 users its about 50 of them. Again only happened after code update.
I have no choise as to what type of tunnels are sent its l2tp or nothing. The lec send l2tp or nothing.
2.8 code i have no trouble with.
Found a 2.8.28 cd on a p2p downgraded packages.
not one complaint in almost a day. Problem fixed.
Still nothing from support.
I’m guessing it was a config problem. I would suggest setting up a dev router and testing it in a lab. I would assume the l2tp tunnel configuration / profiles probably either didn’t upgrade correctly or are missing new feature properties.
