Laggy internet (Am I doing something wrong?)

Hey Guys, another newbie question here. Since getting my 450G up and running I have noticed that my internet lags a bit. Webpages take longer to load (pics sometimes are really slow) and I have to sometimes refresh a page to get it to load at all. Using my Dlink I never had these issues and I have a 50/2 connection so it is more than fast enough. The only settings I have uses are the basic one to set up DHCP, NAT, gateway, etc and no other settings have been used as of yet. Any ideas?

Thanks

are you using pppoe (mtu problem?) the hardware in a routerboard kills any off the shelf router out there, so there must be something wrong. it should be the same or faster, not slower. can you run any tools to see if its dns resolution thats slow, or if its an MTU problem?

Nope, no PPPOE or anything like that. I ran speed test and got equivalent numbers to my old router but surfing the net is definatley slower.

I did some readying and currently I am only using two ether net ports (#1 for Lan and #5 for WAN). I don’t have any bridges at this point, should I?

Thanks

Hi, I had this problem 3 days ago.. Did you tried to change the ethernet wires?! This solved my problem ; ) perhaps you are lucky with this too!

Looks like I may have had a bad route in my routing table. It was the first one in the list. I enabled the Ping command in the route and it disabled this route. I also enabled DNS caching and everything seems to be much faster now. Thanks everybody.
