I’ve recently started trying to get a better understanding of how to have more fun with my RB951G-2HnD.
I’ll be frank, I don’t really know much about networking. I’ve no real formal training in this stuff but i’m trying to learn as much
as I can so please bear with me here.
My latest project involves trying to use the router to create the possibility of playing some old games via LAN using PPTP VPN.
The VPN configuration I’ve made works, I can connect remotely to my pc from anywhare as long as I have my VPN credentials(I use it for RPD purposes).
The problem I’m facing, however, is that me and my friends can’t see any servers when I create them on LAN.
We can ping each but we can’t see our games.
From what I’ve managed to understand it might boil down to something called broadcast or multicast not passing through VPN connections, when checking for local area games.
Could anyone provide some insight into how I might fix this problem?
