LAN ports not receiving full bandwidth

We just purchased a new Mikrotik Routerboard RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN We are not getting full bandwidth through the ethernet ports. The installer had informed us that something had to be changed in order to get full bandwidth through the lan ports. We have a 50mb internet connection and are only getting 35mb through the ports. The WIFI connected devices are receiving full bandwidth 50mb.

Check your cables…

Double click on some of those ports and look at the stats.

Look for stuff like CRC errors, retries, anything that carries the word “errors”.

And yes, bad cabling is usually the culprit. If it comes from office depot and the likes, it’s probably tie-wrapped tight in the bag. BAD!!!
Cheap chineese cables from the local electronic store, usually bad!!

Try this: plug a computer directly on the router with a short (and good)cable, no in-wall run in between, and redo the speed test. You should see a difference.

Thank you I will try that. The technician said they use a script from the main office to configure. Very Vague explanation, but because this is our router they can’t run it. He seemed to believe this as normal out of the box prior to their config script.

So our representative called and explained that I have to update the QOS and it’ll open up.

in order for us to assist, please access router with winbox and go to terminal, then run the following commands and provide the results here.

/interface print

/queue simple print

/queue tree print

/ip firewall filter print

/ip firewall nat print

/ip firewall mangle print

will do
