I want to organize a LanParty next month.
~30 PCs. 100mbps internet (pppoe). Most people will be conneted to Steam, Yahoo Messenger and other IM services, VoIP server (I might setup this one local) + internet games servers (mostly shooters and Starcraft2).
What would be the best router for this?
Will the 750G be able to cope with the packets and simultaneous connections to the outside world?
We will also have a 24 10/100 + 2 100/1000 switch so internal latency won’t be a problem even if some people will be connected over wifi (wifi already tested with 6+ clients).
Don’t get mad at me but I was also looking at this one from Asus: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ik8J7ZTvg1uktpab&templete=2 . (500mhz, 128MB RAM) Tested, WAN to LAN throughput was almost 900mbps but I don’t know about pps or simultaneous connections.
