Layer7 Load Balancing & Aggregation

Hi all,

We currently use Mikrotek to handle our routing. With extra pressure to achieve better bandwidth for everyone we have signed up to a second ISP. My question is, is it possible or could anyone provide some configuration examples to use the mikroteks to do Layer7 load balancing between the 2 ISP’s? For example YouTube traffic go through ISP2 when ISP hits 25mpbs total traffic or all Microsoft Updates go through ISP2 only etc.
Ideally we would just like it to aggregate the lines and swap the traffic when threshold has been reached. Is this possible with mikrotek at all? Has anyone managed to do this successfully for a business?

Thanks

Trev

There are quite a bit of threads around that here on this subject. Please have a look.

Also wiki lists some possibilities: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Load_Balancing

And btw: layer3 or 4 load balancing will do just fine too.

My current setup I have

LAN

Bridge (non-mikrotek)

Mikrotek gateway

Isp1 and isp2

When isp1 is the LAN address with a transparent proxy, could you offer a proposed set up how I could achieve this? I tried the following guide but it would disconnect and reconnect all the time and I’m unsure why. Isp1 and lan eth10 were on the same network..
