hi,
i need a LCD pin diagram using DB9 connector
anyone having it?
i am having the following LCD
http://www.engineersgarage.com/sites/default/files/LCD%2016x2.pdf
no input?
AFAIK chip used in this diplay (KS0066) is compatible with HD44780 LCD controller.
Search Google for ‘HD44780 LCD serial to parallel converter’.
HTH,
is there no one who has put a 9 Pin Serial connector on the LCD??
i am really getting nervous now… I need to develop some real good end user products based on mikrotik with all features.
please help!!!
You are trying to connect LCD with parallel data input to serial data output.
It’s impossible without ‘serial to parallel data converter’, hence my previous post.
HTH,
hi,
I now have a serial port lcd…how can I connect the said RB411 board to it?
LCD Details : http://www.sunrom.com/displays/serial-data-input-display-lcd-16x2?sunid=5e5b6eaf8ed4e3d571080272982a2d3a
This LCD requires seperate 5V DC power supply on Pin1 and Pin2. Pin3 (data in) of LCD should be connected to Pin3 of RouterBoard DB9 connector.
thank you very much…
can we not have a 5 VDC output from the routerboard?
i mean if the ones with USB can deliver that kind of power output the RB450G should also be able to in some way…
now i see there is not LCD package in my ROUTEROS ver 6.0 RC 11 on RB450G board
when i enter >SYSTEM there is no LCD option in it…
what’s wrong??
If he somehow manages to connect the LCD he needs to take into consideration that it works only on TTL level but RB uses RS232 levels (± 12 Volts). A level converter driver must be used (e.g. MAX232).
LCD package must be installed first. Get it in the “All Packages” archive: http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/6.0/all_packages-mipsbe-6.0.zip
yes…
i just installed it and connected PIN 3 of the routerboard serial port to the data in of the LCD but still i am getting garbage on the lcd display…
guys!!!
help please…
