In November, I purchased a pair of Metal 9HPn 900 MHz radios. One of them appears to be working correctly, but the other one doesn’t. Of course, I need both of them to create a link.
The one that’s not working correctly won’t let me log in to it with the Web GUI or the WinBox software. I also can’t get it to respond using the NetInstall software. It is just connected to a laptop. No hub/switch or other devices. In fact, the laptop doesn’t recognize that the Metal is connected to it’s LAN port!
The device powers up, but the “unmarked” LED starts flashing (1 second intervals) as soon as power is applied. The unit does not respond to the standard factory reset routine (hold reset button in, power up, wait until LED’s flash and release button).
Has anyone seen behavior like this? I have searched and have been unable to locate:
- how to reset when in this state
- what state it’s really in (what do the LED’s mean?)
