I’m hoping to power a RouterBOARD FTC from a Tycon TP-POE-48GD ruggedized power injector but when the two products are connected via a UTP cable, the FTC fails to power up. To make sure the FTC was working, I connected it to a mains power supply via the ‘dongle’ included with the product and that worked fine. To ascertain whether the dongle is doing something special, I used a Y-splitter cable to separate the output from the Tycon injector into separate data and power legs. I then used the FTC dongle to recombine the data and power back into a single PoE presentation to the FTC. In this configuration the green LED on the dongle slowly flashed on and off and again the FTC failed to power up. Please can anyone tell me what the flashing LED means? I’ve used a different power injector with my ‘splitter cable/dongle’ combination and it works so that suggests a possible incompatibility between FTC and Tycon?
