LG Washing Machine cannot connect to 2.4 ghz wi-fi

Hello,
I’m trying to connect my LG Washing Maching (model F2T5HG0W) using LG ThinQ App to my 2.4Ghz WI-FI network, I got basic Quick Set setup for dual band WIFI on my hap ac3. The 2.4Ghz network is working fine, tested it on smartphones and LG C1 tv just today. Everything in the LG ThinQ app goes as planed but after the device is added to the app the washing maching keeps blinking the wifi icon and that means that it is still trying to register. I assume it fails to connect to WI-FI network for some reason. App just says that it can’t connect to the washer. Just writing in hope that someone might have encountered the same problem…

Thanks.

How is your access point configured ?
Do you allow b/g/n ?

Yes. Its 2GHz-B/G/N and the frequency is auto.

Don’t use auto ! You don’t know what it will take then.
Full config of the wifi part please.

Read manual of your machine.
It could be it only allows specific channels to be used or specific security modes (e.g. I highly doubt it will allow WPA3).

Try with channel 1 (2412) and NO security.
Just for testing.

I managed to find specifications for wireless adapter in this washing machine and it specified 802.11 b/g/n and frequencies from 2412 to 2472 so even in auto OP shouldn’t have any problem connecting.

OP is using hAP ac3, does legacy drivers support WPA3 ? Or maybe he installed wifiwave2 package ?

Which is why I asked for config …

All I could find in the manual is that the washer supports WPA & WPA2 security and that password of Wi-Fi should contain only english letters and numbers only (no symbols of any kind). No mentions of network specifics like channel or frequency or something else =(
I’ve set my Wi-Fi to channel 2412 as you proposed and turned off the password, did not help.
Tried again with my LG tv and it connects smoothly to 2Ghz network.
Maybe the washer’s wi-fi is broken somehow, I really don’t know what to think.

Here are my network settings:

And thank you for trying to help!

So, to export configuration go to Terminal, enter export file=anynameyouwant and press enter, then in Files you will find newly created file, download it to PC, open in notepad, delete any sensitive information like software ID, serial number etc. and post it here.

Also do you get anything in system logs when you try to connect to wifi ?

Unable to read that image.

Export of wireless part of config please, as requested already couple of times.

Here is the file generated by export command.
As for images, you can click on it and it will open in full resolution.

Thank you!

Here is my security profile (which is default I think) just in case:

So you are using default configuration as I can see. Is this new washing machine ? Can you screenshot logs when you try to connect device to router ?

Yes, the machine is new.
Here are all the logs I got since trying to add it again in ThinQ app:

I have my doubts this is default config.

Please post your config here on the forum between code quotes.
No links, no images, nada.

If not, I’m outta here…

Sorry. Here you go:

For testing:
channel width 20Mhz (no 20/40-XX)
frequency 2412 (= channel 1, or try channel 6 or 11 if there is less interference there)
WPA only, no WPA2
passwd something easier/shorter: try “test123”

Did all like you said. 20Mhz for width, tried channel 1 and 6, left only WPA, password was short and lowercase test1234. didn’t help. Thanks for all the help anyway!

I even tried to turn off security again at last attempt. didn’t help either.

To rule out your access point … can you setup a hotspot using your mobile phone and see if it connects to that ?

If that succeeds (big move)
Since you have AC3, this is possible:
Upgrade to ROS7 and apply wifiwave2 package to your device.
There have been quite a bit of improvements on wifiwave2, it just might be that’s what would be needed to connect your machine.

I will try the hotspot and the upgrade. Will comeback with results tomorrow, at work already at the moment. thanks for all your help!

Just tried to register a device via second phone as hotspot and it worked. Now I am really confused. This smartphone with hotspot was connected to this same 2.4 wifi.
