LHG 5 XL ac (used unit).
Power/system LEDs turn on, but the Ethernet link LED does not light up anymore and the wireless LED does not light up anymore.
The last three system LEDs keep turning on and off in a loop, even after a full reset.
Tested with 24V passive PoE and multiple Ethernet cables.
This looks like a hardware failure (SoC / RF section / Ethernet PHY).
Can anyone confirm?
Could be stuck in bootloop.
Try netinstall.
thank.I considered a bootloop issue, but the Ethernet link LED does not light up anymore at all, so Netinstall cannot detect the device.
In case of bootloop, it's kernel (read from device's flash storage) which fails (or routerboot can't actually find kernel on flas storage) ... and loops back into routerboot (which tries to boot kernel again). When device is set into netinstall mode, then routerboot starts waiting for bootp/tftp server to provide kernel.
Normally kernel starts ethernet interfaces unless routerboot is set for network boot (e.g. netinstall). So the fact that when device tries to start in normal mode lights on ether port don't light up doesn't mean that netinstall wouldn't be successful. OTOH what you see might actually mean that ether1 of your device is toast and can not be salvaged any more.
Did you try to power device using provided RBGPOE injector? Or a different one (I've never heard of, but since RBGPOE is electronic device, it's prone to failures as well). And a different power adapter. With a short UTP cable? All of that to rule out insufficient powering ...
