in normal you buy a RouterBoard and it comes with
an activated (licensed) RouterOS version on it as I see it right.
And in normal, you will be only able to upgrade the RouterOS version
to the next one likes from 5 to 6 or from 6 to 7, but often enough I have
seen RouterBoards often can do two steps so that means from 4 - 6 and 5 - 7
and this is nothing you can count on or it is a must be as I see it right now.
And so the question must be redirected to you and you should answer us more
the question from what you are trying to upgrade RouterOS and to witch version
you want to upgrade? So if your customer is able to get the vers. 7.x and he starts
with vers. 5.x all is normal looking for me.
For the auto update feature to work a repository is needed which contains installable packages.
If you want to update your current installed version go to system → packages and click check update.
THIS NOT WORK IN HIS CASE. BEFORE REPLY, CHECK WHAT THE USER WRITE.
THE USER HAVE ROUTEROS 5.2 AND THE CHECK UPDATE NOT EXIST ON THIS VERSION,
AND ALSO, IF THE USER HAVE 5.26, HE CAN NOT UPGRADE TO 6.13 WITHOUT DOWNLOAD THE FILE,
BECAUSE CHECK FOR UPDATE DO NOT UPGRADE
Rextended, I didn’t want to offend you in any way.
I did read the previous posts and have yo admit I am unaware of the absence of the update button on version 5.2.
I however do know that you have to manually update if you want to go from 5 to 6.
The point nobody talked about was the auto-update feature shown on the graphics of the first post. I wanted to explain that specifically.
Again, sorry if my way of writing was to blunt.
