license issue

hi there!

we have level 5 ros on pc x86, on HDD. the router is 4 years old, license originally 2.8.xx, now 3.7 updated step by step through the years…

after several years faithful service now our HDD is going to die. terrible noise, often stops, restarts and so on are a part of symptoms that predict the end of the drive.

and now, the question is: can we use same license on different drive CF/HDD or not. And if yes, how.

you may send your hdd to MikroTik, they give you another license for $15, as far as I remember =)

maybe i have to contact support first?
does anybody do that?

don’t think they will be happy to see unknown hdds in their postbox =)

yes, contact support at mikrotik.com if you have not don that already with good explanation of the situation.

btw, 4 days no answer from support… hmm… badluck…

every 24 hours we reinstall the device with fresh copy of mt early morning…
hdd we take back to the office, now sitting an waiting…
actually it still working, but device is on the point to die, it sounds terrible, heating, freezing, stopping etc…

was it holidays? :wink:
