I just installed RC2 on two new PC motherboards for high sites. One is an Intel D845 2.4GHz motherboard, and the other an ABit VH6. I already have 5 towers running on the exact same Intel board. After loading RC2, and completely configuring each unit, I phoned into Wisp-Router to obtain my new licence keys. After receiving the keys and pasting them into the WinBox dialog, the time left on the demo reset to 23:59, and the units reported upon reboot that an invalid key was installed. I tried again, and it accepted the key and rebooted, but still said upon booting that it had an invalid key again. I tried swapping the two keys around, based upon the idea that they might have gotten the keys swapped around, and each unit wouldn’t accept the key at all, so there there is some sort of verification working. I formatted each unit again, using version 2.8.26, and it then accepted they keys. I should also note that every time(about 12) I have formatted a media and reinstalled RouterOS, I have been given the same system identifier key. This is contrary to what Paul Benner(one of your listed certified consultants) tells me, which is that a new key should be generated every time a media is formatted, no matter what… Confusing… Once the units accepted the keys, I upgraded one of them to rc4, and as soon as it rebooted, it told me that the key was invalid again. I bought these two keys as a batch of five. The first 3 keys that were generated for me are running on towers right now using Intel motherboards and RC2. Why won’t my last two keys work the same way???
Thanks for any help…
