Hello. encountered a problem the license P1 on CHR (x86) stopped working.
I followed the instructions described here https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:CHR#p1
I get an error:
“ERROR: System ID on this CHR has been regenerated multiple times - please create new installation”
what is meant: “please create new installation”
in the account on Mikrotik.com i have old System id and i cant change this on CHR
If you read what it says, it seems that there’s some limit how many times you can change System ID on CHR, and you reached it. Solution, again based on what’s written, should be to create new CHR instance, transfer config from the old one and then transfer license to it. It doesn’t make much sense to me, why would there be any such limit, but the message seems to be clear.
Obviously we can read.
But where we can read about this limitations? How many times i can change System ID?
Its important, beсause on some hosters (digitalocean) CHR System ID may change after reboot.
I’m not aware of any official documentation regarding this. I also don’t know on what exactly CHR’s software ID depends (for regular RouterOS it’s disk, both hw info and some data on it), but it does seem wrong that it would be changing on reboot. My first reaction would be to blame hoster for doing something wrong. Probably MikroTik didn’t expect that either.
